My students need to keep a detailed Engineering notebook, design programs for their robots and generate presentations and graphics throughout the entire season with new laptops and printers.
The Springfield area has been given the opportunity to create a new movement within the STEM community by creating a new hub for robotics in Southwest Missouri. This incomparable program will allow students to challenge their capabilities not only in math and science knowledge, but give them the ability to expand their thinking within their communication and marketing skills. Teams will build their programs from the ground up by designing and programming robots, all of these skills are essential in order to be successful in the twenty-first century.
While working as a team, students will push themselves to successfully compete on a different level in a unique arena.
Springfield Robotics Programs will allow students to participate within the First Tech Challenge (FTC) which is a part of the first umbrella of STEM programs around the world. During the FTC events, students will be gaining critical thinking skills, be exposed to many collaborative opportunities and increase our ability to verbalize their individual ideas in order to create a final product as a team.
My Project
Within the Springfield R-12 school district, students are given Chromebooks but the FTC programming it, requires more computer processing capabilities than we have available. We are wanting to expand our program to allow for more access in our community. These new computers and printers will allow for students to have better technology and allow them more resources for creating their projects the next few years.
These HP laptops and printers will allow our kids to create programs for the robot to function successfully throughout the season, as well as provide them with design and printing services at no cost to them for their engineering notebook and other materials.
