Help me give my students supplies like a tempered glass showcase and beans that are needed to watch nature grow in the classroom so they can graph and write about what they have learned.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are the youngest learning in our school district. Our school is an Early Childhood Center. We support students ages three to seven years old. Our students come from all over our city to learn and grow together. We are committed to closing the achievement gap by ensuring our students are able to read.
Our school's focus is reading across the curriculum.
We have an outdoor classroom for students to use during the spring and fall for learning about science through nature. During the winter, when it is too cold to go outdoors we bring the learning inside.
My Project
Your support of our project, "Spring Planting Across the Curriculum" will enable my students to have a hands-on planting experience in the classroom while it is still too cold to go outdoors.
This exciting indoor planting and growing experience will help reinforce the outdoor classroom learning during the winter months.
The students will plant and grow seeds in two ways, one in soil and one in a Ziploc bag with water and paper towels only. The students will hypothesize whether the soil is needed for all plants to grow. They will record their findings through writing and making graphs. This will be a wonderful opportunity to explore science and nature.
