My Students
GPA is a K-6 Dual Language Elementary housed within IPS. Our school was created through the Innovation School partnership with IPS. The mission of GPA K-6 is to provide tomorrow’s leaders and global citizens with the highest quality of instruction through language immersion and experiential learning that is culturally relevant. In a highly engaging and nurturing environment, native English speakers and native Spanish speakers will learn to speak, read, and write proficiently in both languages. We serve over 600 students in grades Pre-K to 6.
My Project
Project Spring into the End of the School Year is geared towards supporting a successful end of the school year. As the year comes to an end, many students begin to feel the anxiety of having to be away from school for Summer Break. All of the items requested will contribute to the school's Spring Wellness groups and maintain efforts already underway.
Different grade level groups will continue to work on coping skills, building positive relationships, and effective communication that will help them during Summer Break and beyond.
Being able to provide supplemental snacks and fun treats during these groups is always important, especially when dealing with students who are food insecure, or come from unstable environments.
Other requested materials like the tissues, hand sanitizer and cleaning products will help with daily physical wellness and classroom hygiene once groups are completed. The requested microwave will be a huge contribution towards feeding the groups a quick snack like popcorn and other items that may need to be heated up.
