My Students
I am a library media specialist for students in our school who are in grades 7-12. My students consist of all kinds of readers--some are voracious readers, some are moderate readers, and some are very reluctant readers! My job is to have books for all of them! My goal is to know every student and to also know what type of books are best suited for each of the students.
I know that a student is hooked when he/she tells me that reading the book was like a movie playing in his/her head! I can't tell you what a rush it is to get a reluctant reader excited about reading! My wish is for every student to enjoy reading!
My Project
It is so exciting to see our students figuring out who they are as readers! Students are learning which genres they prefer! They are beginning to claim certain authors as their favorites as well!
Our readers are anticipating reading the new Sequoyah books for 2022. Every year they look forward to finding a new favorite. I believe this order has something for every reader that we represent. Every student will find something new and exciting to read! With all the changes our students experienced in 2020, it is comforting for them to find a reliable and unchanging friend in a book.
