Spring Flooding! Help Flood my Students with Books!
My students need copies of Flying Solo, Island of the Blue Dolphins, and books on investing to create world ready mindful students and lifelong readers.
The students in our building are extremely bright and ready to explore each and every day! We live in a very rural community. We are proud of where we live and how we have grown to overcome many challenges.
Our students are our greatest success, and we need to continue to help them reach their full potential!
Students in our building are not afraid to take on new challenges and want to show everyone what they can do. They are determined to represent our community by pushing themselves to conquer goals that are set before them.
My Project
Students will become lifelong readers if they have a variety of books to choose from and find that special spot called "readers flow."
Having multiple copies of books will challenge my students not only to read, but encourage peer discussions to find similarities in their reading and relationships among the stories and their lives.
Flying Solo is an important book for youth that touches on independence, death and the importance of communication, through the eyes of students their age. As stated by Vygotsky, "Children grow into the intellectual life of those around them."
Students flooded with books have more opportunities to read a good variety of genres.
