Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My young scholars are very special and sweet to me. They are curious about everything and have a thirst for knowledge. My classroom consists of ELD (English Language Development) and EO (English Only) speakers. I have a mixture of Latino and African-American students. Most of my students attend a school where the majority of children come from low-economic backgrounds. These young students enter my classroom with smiles and ready to engage in fun-filled lessons and activities on a daily basis.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they will help them learn about insects and their habitats. My young students are curious and are fascinated with insects. Having an opportunity to see the live stages with live insects, will help them learn in a fun way.
It's going to be fun witnessing the butterfly and ladybug cycle with actual live larvae.
Learning from books, videos, and worksheets is interesting, but having actual live specimens is more exciting. In addition, being able to see how ants function and how hard they work together will be fascinating to witness.
