High school is a crucial time for young adults to discover their likes and dislikes. Some will flourish with athletics and others will thrive in math and science classes. The students in my music classes prosper and grow every day because they have the opportunity to experience music in multiple ways.
There is an emotional draw to music that other classes don't even come close to matching.
Music is a special subject. I believe if students are actively engaged in the how and the why of music, this world would be a better place.
My students are hard workers and know that the bar is set high when they are in my classroom. I want their experiences to be the greatest that they can be and I want them to be provided with the resources they need to achieve excellence.
My Project
I believe that pencils are very important for all of my chorus students to have with them so that they can mark their music when necessary. Tissues are also important so that they aren't singing with stuffy noses!
My students will utilize the sheet music bought through this project to prepare music for our spring choral concert.
With a choir around 100 strong, it is occasionally difficult to get a piece of music into everyone's hands. I believe that every individual in a choir needs to have their own copy of the music so they can mark on their page what they need to be successful.
