Currently, my sixth, seventh and eighth grade students are learning in a completely digital setting. As a conscientious physical education teacher of inner-city youth, I am trying to prepare for all possible teaching and learning scenarios this school year. Our school has a very diverse student population and has a wide range of academic levels. We offer 15 after school sports for our students to participate in.
I want to be able to promote an inclusive environment for all of my students.
I strive to empower all my students to grow and be the best that they can be. All of my students are eligible to receive both the school breakfast and lunch daily for free. Most of our school population takes public transportation.
My Project
The Cricut Explorer Air 2 and heat press will help me create t-shirts, stickers, and inspirational posters to help spread the message of inclusion. Students can also recommend ideas and research projects that we could carry out. Students will be able to design, create and vote, so their voice can be heard.
This will allow students to feel empowered and have fun during these tough times.
These materials will help enhance our Unified PE Program for many years to come. We will also be able to resourcefully use these materials in our annual Spread The Word Campaign as we promote the message of inclusion to our entire student body.
