My Students
My first graders come from very diverse homes. Our classroom is home to many different cultures, economic status, and a wide range of learners that all have very different needs. Last year was their first full day of school as Kindergartners.
Unfortunately, with the effects that Hurricane Harvey had on our community and many of our students homes, they were not able to experience a normal school year.
This year, I want to show them how amazing learning can be!
My Project
My students love when I read books aloud to them. I want to make sure the books I read to them are meaningful, and are teaching them valuable lessons.
I want my students to learn to be kind to others, and to take their kindness and spread it out into the world!
I will use these books to show them good, positive examples of being kind that even first graders can do. I will use these books to build a classroom community where all students feel safe, appreciated, and loved. I will use these books along side character lessons about kindness.
