Every year I have amazing students who enter my classroom. Each student brings a unique point of view and background that makes our classroom environment truly inspiring and wonderful. All of them come from very different home environments, which presents both opportunities and challenges. However, once they enter my classroom they are all given as much love and support as I can offer.
My students love to dance and move, they love to read together and play reading and math games together or show each other what they have discovered or accomplished.
We consistently work on teamwork and getting along in our classroom as well as our regular curriculum. My goal for my students when they leave my classroom is to be a well-rounded student.
My Project
In my classroom, we have 5 rules and our very first classroom rule is Show Kindness to Everyone. It is so important to me that my students learn what kindness is and how to show it to others so we can keep improving our world for the better; and, my students are the future.
Gigi's Yellow Garden is a beautifully written story about the simple little things we can do to show love and kindness to others and brighten up their day.
Since this book is about a yellow garden, I also want to give my students the chance to plant their own garden. This will not only go along with our science curriculum but also give them the chance to spread kindness to others through their own yellow flower and hopefully a yellow garden just like Gigi's.
