This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The School District of University City is hosting its first Spotlight on Literacy Expo on April 1, 2020. This special occasion will be an opportunity for students to showcase their learning, as well as families coming together to learn more about community organizations that support and make connections to literacy.
We would like to invite you to partner with us on our inaugural district-wide literacy event.
The community of University City is very unique and is known for its great diversity. It blends strong suburban neighborhoods with urban multiple family apartments, condominiums and single family housing.
The Spotlight on Literacy Expo is an opportunity for the U City community to come together and celebrate literacy in our schools and local organizations.
My Project
University City is hosting its first Spotlight on Literacy Expo. On this day, the community will be able to visit booths created by students and local businesses, view a presentation by a St. Louis author, and receive a goody bag and door prizes. Some of the stations represented will include book bingo, how to publish a book, literacy and the arts, and a literacy maker space just to name a few.
This Donors Choose is an opportunity to support the University City community by providing books, journals, literacy puzzles, and pencils for attendees and students district-wide.
Attendees will receive a goodie bag filled with various items. We are accepting donations for items (writing journals, colorful pencils, picture books, etc…) to fill our bags.
Help us make the Spotlight on Literacy Expo a night to remember!
