Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What excited you as a child? I remember not being interested in my schools library at all! Help bring excitement to the classroom by helping me get books about karate, Kung-Fu and extreme sports!
I teach at a title I school where 95% of the students have free or reduced lunch.
They are excited to learn but don't have the resources and background knowledge that other children have.
A couple books about sports might not seem like a lot to get excited about, but my kids do! They have difficult lives and something as simply as reading an exciting book can brighten the lives of children who have little of their own.
My Project
My students need children's books that are of high interest to them. My students are very excited about sports. Your donation can make a big change in the lives of students! I am very generous with my classroom library and even allow the children to borrow a book overnight! Help me to continue this practice. You will also receive wonderful pictures of my second graders with their new books!
