I am a Physical Education Teacher in a Title I, (low income) early childhood center in Brooklyn, New York. The staff at my school go above and beyond to give the students the tools necessary to be successful in life. Many of my students do not participate in physical activities outside of the school setting, therefore it is very important to get them moving in class.
My students are enthusiastic bundles of energy!
The children look forward to gym days and can't wait to play. There is no better feeling than seeing the excitement on their faces as they enjoy their journey towards good health!
My Project
My gym equipment is well used. Unfortunately this means that a lot of the gear is old and needs replacement. Sadly, the desire to buy new equipment is hindered by my lack of sufficient funds.
Our ball bladders leak and our Frisbees have flown the coop!
Over the years, many children have enjoyed the use of the basketballs and soccer balls in our gym but alas, all good things must come to an end. Once a week I have to refill the balls because they will no longer hold the air. It's only a matter of time before they will become totally useless. How can a child learn to dribble when our balls are flat?
