Spiraling Into Learning

My students need Spirographs for mathematical design, tools to build, and gloves to protect their hands.

My Students

I teach STEM to all the students at my K-8 school. I have middle school students in daily engineering and design classes, and I work with the K-5 students each week. My students are a diverse bunch of scientists and designers living in the city.

They are so excited about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math!

Whenever they walk by my classroom, the STEM room, I see them craning their necks to see what is going on in here. When it is their turn to visit the STEM room, they arrive eager to share, ask questions, and get started!

My Project

I teach engineering and design to over 400 students at a K-8 school. I would like my students to have access to materials for building safely. I would like them to have fun activities that teach about design and engineering.

Snap circuits teach electrical knowledge through challenges and creativity and Spirographs teach spatial learning, patterns, and fractals through art and design!

Spirographs fascinated me as a kid and I just saw them used very effectively in a math/art lesson. I want my students to have similar experiences! I will also breathe easier when my students are protecting their hands in gloves as they use tools to create.
