Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have some amazing students at our High School. We wish we could provide them with all the supplies, materials, and essentials this world has to offer. We want them to be successful not only in our classrooms, but also in their future.
There will be great math puzzles, activities, and games that challenge students to think and go further than they ever thought possible.
We will challenge the quiet students to speak up and voice their opinions, because what they have to say matters. We will challenge the problem solvers to come up with explanations and justifications using words, tables, and drawings. We will challenge those with little math confidence to not be afraid of making mistakes and to always ask questions.
My Project
Every summer before school starts I run to the store and purchase 200 spiral notebooks for my students to use. Students use notebooks to work on warm up activities to prepare their brains to learn math. The also use their notebooks to take notes on new concepts and skills. Students use their notebooks for extra practice to move knowledge from working memory to long-term memory.
Notebooks allow students to not only organize their work, but also their thoughts and learning.
I usually give students one notebook at the beginning of the year and if they need another one, they have to provide their own. Please help me give them all their notebooks they need!
