My Students
I have an outstanding group of focused and career driven students. My students come from all over the district, one of the largest in our state, with a wide variety of experiences and educational levels. My students have to commit at least half of their school day, sometimes more to study here. My students have a wide variety of socioeconomic statuses and most are utilizing tools that they otherwise wouldn't have access to. The focus of the class is to prepare students for career and college readiness.
My Project
I want students to use these Spheros to experiment with code and see how their coding effects a real world object. I want the students to be able to create mazes and obstacles that the Sphero will only be able to navigate after they have done the requisite coding. I also want student to be able to see what else they can make these robots do. I have some great ideas on uses for the Sphero's but I suspect my students will have much better ideas to share. We may even be able to do some cool stop motion animation.
