Help me give my students the start of a classroom Makerspace! Our students love to work in the creative spaces in our media center, and they would benefit from a similar area in our own classroom!
We departmentalize in 5th grade, and I have the opportunity to teach 3 classes of mathematics. I see a total of 75 students each day. We have a diverse population at our school and a wide range of ability levels.
Our students work hard and deserve the very best tools each day!
Students use a variety of methods to learn and practice their math skills, and I want to provide them with the tools needed to be successful mathematicians. Students are always encouraged to show their work in a variety of ways.
My Project
Our students love to create. They are able to be in creative spaces around the school, and I really want to give students the opportunity to try out their coding skills and create in our classroom space with Sphero mini robots!
I wanted to create a designated area in our classroom for coding so the area rug and robots will be the perfect start.
Fifth graders participate in various coding activities throughout the year, and I know they will all be excited to get this opportunity in their very own classroom. Using the robots and the designated space will help all students have access and grow their coding abilities!
