Our middle school is a Title I school with 100% free and reduced lunch. The students here have spunk, passion, and the ability to persevere through any situation. They are curious and creative and they deserve the best.
The school is working to get students college and career ready.
We are teaching computer science for the first time and many students are looking forward to the opportunity. Our school is also under a much needed renovation. The students are excited about the remodel and having a new school that they and the community can be proud of.
Sphero Edu has a variety of activities and projects that students can do to learn how to code. Most of them work best with the full-size Sphero because it has additional features not included on the Sphero Mini, such as lights and sound. If they were to get these Spheros I could use them at a station to have students learn to code through these experiences. One idea they have on the website is to create a maze then program the Sphero to get through the maze or do certain tricks at different points in the maze. This is a great way for students to get a hands-on coding experience.
