Help me give my students My students need access to "Sphero" robotic balls in STEM class to learn coding, computational thinking and problem solving skills.
This project expired on May 30, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
The bell rings. Twenty-nine rambunctious sixth graders await, not so patiently, outside ready to be allowed into the classroom.
They are ready to learn with their "Bring it On" attitudes.
They smile as they pass me on their way towards their desks. They are so cool and yet underneath the facade they are vulnerable little children in big kid bodies.
I love these most awkward years. My students are adorable to the core.
My students want to learn and they know just how to do it.
My students need access to "Sphero" robotic balls in STEM class to learn coding, computational thinking and problem solving skills. Students will learn not only how to navigate the Sphero ball through mazes they build with wooden blocks, but also learn to program or "code" using Sphero. There are Sphero applications which will let students create simple programs or macros for Sphero so it can act like a robotically controlled "rover" on another planet. I plan to give my students challenges to develop "mission programs" for Sphero to complete as if they are the NASA engineers back on earth doing research and exploring another planet.
