Sphero Coding in the Media Center

Help me give my students access to an Ipad so that they can easily use the spheros for coding in the media center.

My Students

At my school, I am the media specialist to approximately 955 students, both sixth and seventh graders. These students are excited about everything that happens in the media center! They are motivated and eager to learn about anything presented to them. The community is a farming and agricultural community with strong ties to close colleges and universities. The students and their families are a mix of ethnicities, backgrounds, and education levels.

My Project

The students love coding, and they love using the sphero robots! Right now, I have 5 sphero robots for coding and only 3 iPads. This means that only three robots may be used at a time; this leaves a long wait time to use the spheros. I would love for all five spheros to be used at the same time during busy time periods.

In the media center, these spheros and ipads directly benefit every student in the school and allow all, regardless of class schedule, an introduction to coding and STEAM projects.

Some students have access to coding and robots in their classes, but this does not apply to all of the students.
