This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have taught for 22 years and am currently in a class with nearly 1:1 PCs. Students are surrounded by technology in all aspects of their daily lives, yet not enough to dig deeper and understand the mechanics of how it all comes together.
My students are bright young women and men who are curious by nature and like to investigate.
Living in such proximity to Washington, DC, there are many industries they can look to excel in, and they will undoubtedly do just that!
My Project
Computer Science is everywhere. Students don't even realize just how much they interact with it on a daily basis until they are able to 'get their hands dirty' with it. Using lessons and programs to deepen their computer science knowledge is one of the goals of my class. I want to take that learning even further and provide hands on experiences to further my students' understanding of computer science and coding.
Programing these robots to operate at will would be a great way to extend my students' understanding of computer science and strengthen their coding skills.
