My students need Uno Moo preschool game, wireless Listening Center, and Letter Sounds program to teach speech sounds that addresses their special education needs.
Imagine a child speechless for one hour, one day, one week, or one year. Now imagine 55 preschool students with that same problem.
My preschool special education students (ages 3-5) have difficulty understanding language, expressing language, and/or not able to use speech sounds correctly.
Each student is like a snowflake, no two are alike. They are happy, loving students that thrive on interactive learning!
My Project
Every child is different and has different needs. Speech therapy requires either individual or group sessions within a push-in model (working in centers with the special day class teachers) or pull-out model where students are pulled out of the classroom. The iDock Wireless listening center in conjunction with the Listen & Learn Letter Sound activity program will target students' need to acquire language and early literacy as stated in the Common Core Standards. In addition, various games such as: Gears! Building set; animal masks, Monkeying Around; Thinkfun Roll and Play board game; Uno Moo Preschool game; Everearth Junior Racer; Jr. Talking Microscope; and LeapFrog Farm Animal Mash-up Kit will help promote a language-rich environment and encourage social awareness and interactions which will engage students to use their language to make meaningful connections with their peers within an individual or small group therapy setting. Non-verbal students will be using the iPad cases.
This project will make a difference in children's lives year after year.
Preschool students will graduate and move to Kindergarten, but the equipment for my therapy room will be used over and over again through the years as new special education preschoolers attend therapy.
