My Students

My students are eager learners! Their excitement when they accomplish a project or create something is a blessing to see.

Our school is in a small town where it is hard to provide opportunities for low income students.

Like many schools, we are on a tight budget, so many of my supplies come from my own pocket or donations from parents. Many parents can not donate, and I find myself spending more and more on my room trying to give my students more opportunities. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students become thinkers and problem solvers.

My students are amazing kids who deserve to have every resource possible.

My Project

Speech is something every student needs to master. The cute, "wadybug" (aka: ladybug), is only cute for so long. In order for students to succeed, they need people to understand them and what they are saying. Some students struggle to master their speech and language abilities. This is where the fun comes in. Imagine having to practice the same sound over and over again for an hour a week. I try to have some fun, but when you have the same student for years, it is hard to keep the excitement.

Speech can be so much fun with technology!

Technology provides students with fun games to practice their sounds. They can see where their tongue needs to be placed in their mouth with virtual lessons. Let's face it, technology is amazing! It can help students see that learning is fun no matter what they are doing in life!
