My Students

I am a special education teacher for students with intellectual disabilities and autism. My students are all in high school and lack various life skills that hold them back both academically and in life in general. That being said, they love learning and look forward to gaining the skills they need to excel in school and in their communities.

My Project

While I am currently not in school due to COVID-19, I have been spending all my free time trying to rethink my teaching philosophies in an effort to be the best teacher possible for who I perceive to be the best students possible. My students are excited to learn all it entails to be a young adult that lives a life of meaning and accomplishment. I want to revamp how I teach social skills and life skills classes next year to assist my students in becoming more independent by providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to become more socially aware. In doing so, I need some additional resources.
