Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are superstars willing to take on any challenge thrown their way.
Our classroom is a welcoming environment. The students are supportive of one and another and truly want to see each other succeed. We work hard every day to make sure we are living up to our potential as 3rd-grade students.
My Project
Our students are returning to school from their spectacular summers. They may not be as excited as I will be for the year to start! But, I intend to make the first day and every day after so spectacular that they can't wait to come back for more!

These supplies will help to keep my classroom organized and colorful. Students enjoy being in a welcoming environment. Our building is 100 years old! It takes a lot of extra supplies to make the old rooms feel welcoming and inviting.
Our students will also be switching classrooms for different subjects. This is something they have never done before! The supplies will help to color coordinate the different groups and help the students stay organized. Each class will have everything in the room color coordinated. The blue and green bins will help assist with this organization. The more organized the classroom is the less stressful this new experience will be for all of the students.
I have also ordered whiteboards and erasers so that I can have enough for each class to have their own to use for the school year. The protective sheets will help cut down on copies. Students can put worksheets inside of the protector and write on it with dry erase markers. These can be reused for years to come! Lastly, research has proven that playing classical music the background can help students' learning. The Bluetooth speaker will allow this to be possible.
