Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are caring, kind, and amazing. They are middle school students who are trying to find their place in the world during a difficult time.

These students are primarily second language learners and at a Title I school.

They understand hard work as I have heard stories of how some are already working. They come to school ready to learn and are excited about the new possibilities every day.

Our school values rigor, and compassion, and my students should have gym materials that reflect that, no matter what city they live in.

My Project

The addition of Spikeball to our PE materials will allow us to remain current while installing a love for lifetime fitness. Physical Education has had to change drastically since COVID began, and with those changes, PE teachers have also had to acclimate. While we understand that we must mask and maintain distance, we want our students to continue to build a passion for health and fitness.

Spikeball, while enjoyable also promotes many fitness standards such as motor skills, strategy, and conflict resolution just to name a few.

I would be wildly excited to add this to our items to offer our students. This would help us create potentially an entirely new unit.
