My second grade students are excited to learn new things and are eager to put their newly learned skills to good use. They love engaging in technology based learning but are limited with the lack of school resources. My class is an Integrated Co-Teaching class which means that 40% of my students are classified as special education students. Differentiation through technology and leveled printed materials offers an alternate learning opportunity for my students that learn a little differently or require extra support.
Everyone learns differently and my students need their chance to show what they can do.
They meet every challenge thrown at them with an inquisitive nature I have come to truly admire. I want to expand their horizons and provide classwork that will make them feel successful.
My Project
It is only December and I can't even count the number of basic supplies my students have gone through. My students vie for the single pencil in their caddy that has an eraser. In our class, pencils need to be replaced constantly, their folders are worn from use, and our markers are drying out. These are all signs of a hardworking classroom but it can also put strain on our wallets. I am requesting basic supplies for my classroom such as pencils, folder, markers, and chart paper.
By donating to our project, you will be giving my students the basic tools they need to succeed.
Do not underestimate the value of a pencil with an eraser or a fresh marker that produces brilliant colors.
