My students need a collaborative floor work space. This project includes a table and seating for four students.

I work with the most amazing first grade students! This is my first year of teaching and I work in an area where more than three-quarters of my students are from low-income households. My students need so much but still come to school ready to learn all they can.
My students are full of life and have amazing attitudes.
Every day they teach me more than I could possibly teach them. They live in an area that is high crime/poverty but they truly are triumphant and strong-willed individuals.
They have taught me that no matter what challenges I may face it is still possible to remain positive and resilient. They deserve so much more than they are given and so it is my mission to make sure I can do my best to give them whatever I possibly can.
Movement is important in all of our lives. However, students are expected to sit in hard chairs and desks for at least seven hours a day. I want to give my students the ability to change where they sit by offering some comfortable/flexible seating.
Comfortable students are more eager to participate.
Think about when you feel at your best. Is it when you are forced to sit in a rigid position without moving? Most students need movement through out the day. I see so many of my students needing to move from their seats and learn from a more comfortable position.
I am asking for a small floor table with cushioned chairs to provide my students with another seating option. By allowing my students this new seating choice I am also allowing them to be a part of their own comfort and learning.
