I am a dedicated speech-language pathologist working with students who have articulation impairments, expressive or receptive disorders, Autism, fluency disorders and social communication deficits. This is my first year, so I'm looking for materials to help my students succeed while staying motivated!
Many of my students are from low-income homes, and I want to do everything I can to help them succeed academically and communicate effectively to build connections with peers and adults!
My students are dedicated to their education and try their best in speech therapy everyday. No matter what they may be going through, they bring the best version of themselves to speech therapy every day and are truly inspiring. All of the materials donated to my kids will be truly appreciated and used to work toward their speech and language goals.
My Project
Books, books and more books! That's what my students and I love to incorporate into our speech therapy sessions. I would love to create weekly themes surrounding a book topic to help students with their articulation, social skills, receptive and expressive language disorders, while learning new things. A theme on community helpers would be a topic while reading Career Day. Hidden Figures would be a topic on space, while also celebrating strong women. A farm theme would include The Fed Up Cow, while I Am Enough would teach my students about loving themselves and being confident. I have also included several school supplies that my speech room is low on including crayons, a clipboard, laminating sheets, file folders and hanging folders. As a speech and language pathologist, I strive to help my students communicate effectively and these books and school supplies would benefit each student greatly!
