My students need sound canceling headphones to be able to block loud noises that are distracting and overwhelming. We need pencil boxes, fidget toys, notebooks, and books. A quieter atmosphere is imperative for their continued learning.
I work with a bunch of amazing kiddos who all happen to struggle with various degrees of Autism. Due to their difficulties processing the world around them, they struggle with making good choices within their environment and interactions with the people around them.
I work with my kiddos to learn ways to express their needs and wants in a socially acceptable manner.
We also work on ways for them to cope with the stresses and frustration of life appropriately and not get overwhelmed.
My Project
Children with learning difficulties such as Autism are fully capable of learning and growing as their peers. It is our job to provide them the tools to work to the best of their ability. These items will be greatly appreciated and utilized in our classroom to further the knowledge of our awesome friends!
