Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are one of a kind. They are strong and passionate about their education. Last year Hurricane Harvey left our community in dire need of additional assistance. Many of our students are still homeless and being able to come to a welcoming school environment is essential. Most of our students come from low income families that are now facing greater financial hardship due to Hurricane Harvey. Even though Harvey came, destroyed, and turned their world upside down, they came back to school with positive attitudes and eager to learn.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will help our special education program. We need a shredder to dispose confidential paperwork. Right now we are having to put the paperwork in a box and wait for it to fill up and then we have to take it to another campus and shred there. This takes up time which can be used in the classroom.
The world is more beautiful in color.
We are requesting a color printer for our SPED program. This will help with visuals for our students and help make things stand out. By making visuals for our students, it will help with behavior as well.
