My Students

My students come to my special education classroom each and every day facing so much more than I could ever imagine, even as an adult. I teach in a low-income/high poverty school district in Iowa.

In my classroom, the first and foremost 'rule' I teach is that our classroom is our home and we are our own little family.

Everyone is welcome and I, along with my associates, will do whatever we can to help you reach your fullest potential, both emotionally and academically. I want my students to know that our classroom is that safe place where you are able to freely express yourself and your feelings. I want them to know I will help them reach their goals while being their biggest cheerleader!

My Project

By using the Osmo learning device in my classroom, my students are able to get independent practice on the skills that we are learning daily. The Osmo allows students to work on their own while still getting feedback if an answer is wrong.

Technology is something that all of my students love to use.

This product allows them all to have a blend of hands on and technology learning, which is so engaging! We are able to use Osmo in all of our subject areas, such as math and reading. Using Osmo is also a huge motivator for students to work hard!
