Mrs. Clary from Greensboro AL is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the basic school supplies such as a whiteboard, pencils, binders and paper, to be as successful as possible in the classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My student body consists of approximately 300 students from poor, socioeconomic backgrounds. The racial makeup of my students is 99% African-American. A majority of my students come from homes where parents do not have a college education. It is the objective of the school to ensure that the students are on the path to being college and career ready by the time they leave middle school. However, some of our students with the most significant cognitive learning delays accomplishing this task can seem difficult.
Some our most precious students need a little extra help and motivation in the academic setting.
The schools population of special needs students deserve more than the state of Alabama can contribute. Basic learning materials and manipulative would aide all of my special needs students in their classrooms.
As a result of being located in a small rural town in Alabama, my students sometimes don't have the financial resources to have the best learning tools and equipment, but they deserve so much more!
Because my students have learning challenges, these items will assist them in completing alternative assignments while staying in their general education classroom. Many of their parents already face financial challenges in getting the basics; unfortunately school supplies are not their top priority. As a result, I would like for each of my students with disabilities to have the same supplies that their non-disabled peers enjoy.
The basic supplies will level the playing field for the majority of my students.
Having the same supplies will afford them socialization opportunities that they may not otherwise enjoy while also allowing them to stay in an inviting academic setting.
