My Project

I am on my 24th year of teaching students with special needs. My classroom of self-contained students has a range of ability levels and every lesson has to be individualized to meet the needs of each of these special learners. I am asking for a magnetic dry erase board on a chart stand and a laminator for the purpose of increasing the visual supports in my classroom. These kids thrive on visual supports and through the use of the chart stand, they each can come up and be interactive in answering questions through the use of their primary communication mode and for some, this can be through touch. It also provides materials in a larger format for my students who have visual impairments. I am also requesting a laminator so that materials can be long lasting and durable. We use visuals throughout the day and thus, the wear and tear can make keeping materials difficult when they are not laminated. These visual supports can also be sent home and back for the purpose of continuity between home and school.

I am asking that you please consider donating to our special students who should have access to as many materials as they can to support their individual need levels.
