My students are amazing, creative, smart and kind!
They each learn in different ways and continually amaze me with the progress they make each day.
They are special because despite challenges they face they never, ever give up! They encourage one another and celebrate each others successes.
As a multi-grade level class the students are always working together to help others and be good role models. The older students receive the opportunity to help the younger students with their handwriting or reading and the younger students receive the opportunity to do special jobs of responsibility in the classroom. A critical component of my classroom is that everyone plays a critical role in each days events. My students rise into these important roles with pride and responsibility.
My Project
My classroom facilitates the learning for multiple grade levels each day. In order for my students to be successful it is so important that the learning environment is catered to all of their unique learning styles. As the environment improves the students access to the classroom and my instruction makes the same growth.
The furniture materials requested with allow small group instruction to thrive with an appropriately sized horseshoe table and stools that promote engagement and concentration.
A microphone and podium will allow even the quietest voices to be heard proudly during daily presentation of classroom journals. The storage unit with clear bins will keep materials organized while allowing students to visually see the sensory break box they are choosing after they complete a difficult assignment.
The Scholastic news subscription will be an important weekly event to engage students with current and real-world curriculum. Through this subscription my students will have the opportunity to read and study current events at their instructional reading level.
