My Project

My students are energetic and hard-working. They need a sensory-friendly classroom environment. Starting with the fluorescent lighting, we already have whisper white filters that make the classroom have a soft white glow. In addition to the lighting, creating a sensory-friendly calming area called "Cool Down Corner". The use of these lights will make the classroom as a whole more inclusive and warm.

Providing a bean bag, weighted stuffed animals, and visual calming sensory toys will help when students are having big feelings.

In addition to the calm classroom environment, providing math materials that provide a hands-on approach. Additional classroom supplies make it easy for the teacher can place classroom materials on the whiteboard for students to get what they need.
