I teach some of the highest-needs students who have difficulties with emotional regulation. Our school is in a low-income area, with all of the students receiving free lunch. My students are some of the toughest students to teach in my school, yet they are also the most rewarding students to teach. I have been highly successful at integrating and supporting these students into the general education classroom to the highest extent possible. Our school culture is committed to supporting the inclusion of these students in the general education setting.
My students have very limited seating options in my classroom. My seating is a mix of hard chairs, and my students tend to struggle with sitting still while trying to learn. These new seats will allow my students to move while they remain engaged in the task at hand.
These wobble seats will help my students stay focused while learning.
These seats serve to satisfy their need to move while allowing my students to continue their learning. Several of my students have difficulties with attention, so every detail of their learning time matters. By providing flexible seating, my students will be more likely to stay focused and engaged.
