My classroom is filled with AMAZING students!
I have the honor of teaching special needs students daily life skills. My students are learning how to complete daily task that many of us take for granted. Each child comes to my room with different learning and physical disabilities. In my classroom we SMILE, LAUGH and LEARN!
My Project
My class will be using these iPad minis with cases to communicate! I have a number of students who can not verbally communicate, yet they are eager to interact in class. These students have so much to tell us and teach us! Award winning apps have been created to speak for a disabled child by the touch of a picture. My students are currently using the app on an iPad they share in my classroom to request simple items and participate in the lesson.
By adding two iPad minis to my classroom, my nonverbal students will have a voice of their own. Since iPads are portables devices, my students will be able to use the speaking apps throughout the day interacting with their peers, teachers, cafeteria ladies and principals. The iPads minis will also be used for academic and daily learning activities.
