My students need art supplies in order fundraise so we can attend the state Special Olympics track meet in May. We create and sell beautiful, unique works of art.
Help us to unleash the inner artist! We would love for our special education students to have the opportunity to create and sell artwork in our school and community.
We absolutely have the best students in the whole world!
They are fun, they LOVE school, they are sweet, and are all around good kids. It is so fun to go to work every day and see them smile. Our students love to be involved in school activities such as Drama, Horticulture, Special Olympics, and PE. We are hoping to give them some exposure to art as well. We have a lot of varying disabilities in our class and are always striving to learn new and exciting skills.
My Project
We are asking for canvases and other art supplies. Every child is an artist and we hope to let them use their creativity. All of our students have disabilities, some of them severe. Being able to paint with their hands would not only be a great motivation, it will also serve as a great sensory therapy for them. For some of our nonverbal students, this will be one of the only ways to express themselves. Being able to create something totally original and then have someone want to buy their art will give our students a great confidence boost.
If we receive these supplies, our students will be able to attend the Special Olympics State Competition at the end of the school year for free.
Due to the tornado that ravaged our city, we do not have the funding that we have had in the past. We would love to provide these families with this trip free of charge. In order to do that, we want the students to create awesome works of art that we will sell in our school and in our community.
