Special Needs Kindergarten Students Become Technology Geniuses
My students need the Osmo Genius Kit to keep up with the rapidly changing world of technology while learning basic skills in a hands-on way.
This project expired on July 27, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
We are a low-income/high poverty school and my students are faced with daily challenges inside and outside of the classroom. As a teacher with a very diverse inclusion classroom, we strive to create meaningful learning experiences in our classroom community.
Although my students face many challenges, they work hard and are eager to learn!
Exactly half of my students are Special Needs. This include several students with Autism, significant speech delays, significant developmental delays, delays in fine and gross motor skills, ESOL, along with general education students. This requires our students to receive special services. Despite these challenges, they have made huge gains so far this year. We are blown away by how far they have come and we continue to push them to go even further.
I am requesting the Osmo Genius Kit and other Osmo games. These are award-winning games that transform your iPad into a hands-on learning tool. It turns core subjects, like math and spelling, into engaging fun. It also encourages visual thinking, problem solving, and creative drawing skills. The games continually get more challenging as the students master the skills.
Our class includes a wide range of abilties and learning styles.
From Autism to ESOL the Osmo learning kits will help meet the needs of all students in my classroom. With our school being majority Free/Reduced Lunch students they do not always have access to technology in their home. We want to make the most of their learning environment here at school and provide the latest cutting edge technology to our students.
