My students need sensory items to use throughout the day, as well as calculators and educational games to aid them in achieving their scholastic goals.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students need sensory items to soothe them and keep them focused throughout the day. Our sensory center is currently limited to a play dough and a couple of rubber balls. My students are also in need of educational games to help them achieve their daily living and educational goals.
My students' disabilities include Autistic, Severe Intellectually Disabled, and Moderately disabled.
They attend a Title I school in Georgia. They are learning things such as money and time management. I have three non-verbal students and have it very important that we work on communication skills. My students are used to structure and organization. The items requested will help them become even more independent daily.
My Project
My students are in need of calculators, educational games, and sensory items. They will learn to budget their money with their new calculators. The sign language materials requested will open the lines of communication between my verbal and non-verbal students. We are also requesting items that will help keep our classroom organized. My students are learning to become self-sufficient and organization plays a big role in that.
Your donations to the project will aid our students in reaching their full potential.
Learning to manage money and how to communicate are skills that they will take with them and use throughout their life. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and help us in becoming successful in reaching our goals.
