My students need a carpet that we can use during morning meeting, calendar, and story time. They need a classroom rug to give every student their own comfortable spot to learn and grow.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach an awesome group of Life Skills Support students. Our district is struggling financially. Your support will help my students get materials that will assist them in becoming more independent in their writing abilities.
Despite all odds, my students come to school every day ready, willing, and able to learn.
My belief is that all students are capable of learning when provided the opportunities needed to overcome their delays. I currently have 12 highly motivated, intellectually disabled, kindergarten to third grade students. My students enjoy learning new things and I would love to provide them that opportunity.
My Project
A classroom carpet will help my students learn boundaries like personal space and body control. Having a carpet with letters will help my students learn letter recognition as I will frequently change their assigned seats on the rug. It will help with the flow and movement of the classroom.
This classroom carpet will brighten up my room and the children in it!
Everyone loves to feel like they belong and have a place. By having a rug for us to learn on, each child has a place in our classroom that is their own special place to learn and grow!
The teacher chair will allow me to sit comfortably on the new carpet, with my students, during morning meeting, story time, and group time activities.
