Our school is located in the rural south. Most of our students are African-American, and many would be considered at-risk for one reason or another. Many of our students live in dire poverty. As a result, learning is not always the biggest issue in their lives.
For many of my students, it is hard for their families to provide the basic materials they need for class.
Since most of my children come from impoverished backgrounds, it is understandable that this can happen. In some cases, their parents have to choose between buying school supplies and putting food on the table. Because of this, we need help to make sure these students have the items they need on a daily basis.
My Project
We are in great need of technology here at our school. Most of our devices are bordering on a decade old. Because of this, many run slow or are showing signs of future problems. Rather than waiting on these materials to die, we are looking to replace them so that our students will not have any down time. Right now, we need to replace three that have died, so you can see how bad we need these devices.
In this project we are requesting three Chromebooks and their software.
They will be used to get three computer stations up and running.
Our special needs students have to do their modified assignments online like our other students. Because of this, we have to insure that all of them have computers that work. Since we have monitors, keyboards and mice that work, this was the best way to go.
Please help us give our students the education they deserve!
