I have not met my 12 students yet, but I am so excited to provide them with a special place to grow and learn. My students are in a K-2 Sub-Separate classroom due to low academic achievement. Some of my students continue to struggle with basic math skills (counting to 100, simple addition & subtraction) and reading skills (reading CVC words/ high-frequency words). Each student has an individual set of skills he or she is working on and my goal is for each student to make progress throughout their time in my classroom. Progress looks different for every student and it is important that my students feel proud of the work they do.
My Project
I teach K-2 students who have special needs. They are on different levels and will benefit from the Early Math Centers. Looking at past work, students had difficulty with adding and subtracting single digit numbers. I would love for my students to use these math centers to increase their math skills and their love for learning.
I want my classroom to feel like a second home.
Therefore, students will be able to use the Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats and the Flex Space Wobble Cushions when working independently (while reading or completing math facts).
All of these resources will become part of our community and help my students achieve their goals.
