My students need beanbag chairs to meet their unique sensory needs. A majority of my students have Sensory Processing Disorder and/or Autism and prefer seating that is flexible, comfortable and secure. These chairs will work great!

My Students

As a Special Education teacher, I get the privilege to work with students with unique and very special needs. My student population ranges from kindergarten through third-grade. Among them are students who need additional support in reading, writing, math as well as social and life skills.

Although I believe ALL students have special and unique needs, the students I work with often have learning disabilities, physical impairments, or neurological disorders that make access to the typical classroom curriculum more challenging.

My goal is to supply students with interactive technology to help bridge the gap between disability and success.

My Project

The majority of my students have unique sensory processing needs due to Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as ADHD. When students are required to stay in plastic chairs or the hard carpet all day, they grow irritable and begin to "check out" of learning. I would eventually like to create a comfortable classroom complete with a small sofa, bean bag chairs, large pillow seats and rugs.

Providing students a choice in where they sit to learn has been proven to have a positive impact on their attention and learning outcomes.

It is my goal to create a safe, secure space where students feel comfortable and excited to learn! Thank you for helping me make this happen!
