My Project

With a variety of moderate and severe needs special education students we are going to be utilizing a self-contained special education classroom for the upcoming school year. We have had small doses of this in the past, and have seen how when used appropriately it can be beneficial for some students (just like inclusion). When needs are not able to be met in the reg Ed classroom it is then time to think outside the box and figure out how best to meet the kids needs. That is why we are starting a self contained room this year. We are in need of so many resources to help us set up structured tasks and stations to help the room flow correctly for these students to help increase their learning and help them be successful in school. Teachers pay teachers gift cards is one of the best ways to help us get us started on this new adventure.
