My Project

My active young students need sensory input to regulate their bodies and emotions. They bounce in their chairs, put their hands on their peers, and fall onto the floor. And as they seek out this input, they are not ready to learn. I want to provide them with the materials they need to appropriately get their needs met in the classroom.

My students have sensory needs that once met allow them to be present and active learners.

We will use these sensory supports during learning periods to help our students focus. The chair bands will allow them to kick in their seats without kicking anyone. The wiggle seats will allow them to move without distracting their peers. The kinetic sand will be used to take breaks appropriately, so they can reset and rejoin the learning activities.
