Despite so many hardships, my students come in each day eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
I teach special education students, grades kindergarten through third.
Our school is in an inner city in Arizona. All students in our school receive free breakfast, snack, and lunch. Our students are very sweet and polite. Many of them come from troubled backgrounds, and many students move frequently.
Many of my students have a hard time sitting still and focusing during class. I believe fidgets will help them be able to focus. There is a wide variety of fidgets available, and having access to a variety will help students find one that works for them.
Several of my students are nonverbal.
These ASD key ring picture cards and behavior rules board will help them to better communicate.
Some of my students are learning to add and subtract. The match it math game will help them to understand this process.
Many of my students don't know letter names or letter sounds. The POP for letters and alphabet BINGO games will be a fun way to help them learn this vital skill.
