My students are in a 12:1:1 classroom. They have been together for five years and are excited for a new year and new start! My students are all learning disabled, but are full of energy and excitement. They are well-behaved and love science and math. Our school is a Title I school with every student receiving free lunch.
Learning disabilities do not keep my students from achieving their goals.
They work extra hard to keep up and they enjoy learning new topics.
My special education students are requesting activity stations about money and book pouches. We have been learning about coins, money and financial literacy since September, however, not all students are grasping this concept. We desperately need more manipulatives to help us remember the name and amounts for each coin. My students learn best with hands-on materials, like games, centers and manipulatives. We are also requesting book pouches to hold all of their library books about coins and money.
Special education students require a lot of hands on materials and this activity station and book pouches will help tremendously.
Financial literacy is an extremely important topic for students to learn.
