Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our special education class was so sad to hear that our brand new document camera (funded through Donorschoose) will not work because we do not have Windows 8.
I have a fantastic group of 30 students.
Half of the students in this 3rd grade class are special education students. My co-teacher and I differentiate our lessons based on the needs of our students. They love to learn everything and are very hard workers .
My Project
Our class has a document camera in our room that is not usable due to a lack of Windows operating systems. This new Chromebook would allow me to project workbook pages or handouts onto the Smartboard. My special education students would be able to follow along with my lessons step by step. Many of my students are visual learners and are not working to their full potential because of a lack of technology. The base ten stamps will come in handy for small group instruction on place values. Students love using stamps and will love learning place values, which is so important.
This project is so important to us because we recently had a document camera donated to our classroom but are unable to use it because we only have Macs in our classroom.
This document camera requires Windows to work. This new Chromebook would allow us to project images and pages onto our Smartboard and give visuals for our special education students during lessons. We are also requesting base ten stamps to help our students learn place values.
